Like Hair Donation at Tirupati, Blood Donation at SHIRDI…Daily

From Malladi Rama Rao
New Delhi, 11 June (Asiantribune.com):

Daily blood donation facility is being provided at the famous Sai Baba temple at Shirdi. It is on the lines of devotees offering their hair at Sri Venkateswara Swamy (Balaji) Temple, atop seven hills at Tirupati.

The Blood donors will be felicitated on behalf of the Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan; darshan of Saibaba Samadhi will be arranged for them, Chairman of the Sansthan, Dr. Suresh Haware, said in a statement.

Facilities are provided for donating blood at two places - opposite the Museum and near Donation Offices both within the Shri Saibaba Samadhi Temple premises.

Balaji devotees offer their hair to the deity at Tirupati as an expression of their faith, and also as a way of their thanks giving after a wish is fulfilled. Daily large number of men, and women of all ages and children offer their hair at a specially marked place before going in for the Darshan of Balaji.

Now, emulating the Tirupati example, Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan (Trust) has come up with the blood donation concept. The trust has been running a blood bank for several years by now.

Dr. Suresh Haware pointed out that while the need for blood and blood components has been increasing day- by- day, the number of blood donors is quite less. “Our effort is to reduce the gap between demand and supply” since lakhs of devotees are arriving in Shirdi every day from far and near, and many of them may like to offer blood to the needy as an expression of their devotion to and faith in Sai Baba.

He hoped that the Blood Donation (offering) concept would take roots in Shirdi just as the hair donation concept has taken roots in Tirupati.

Dr. Haware added that the Sansthan is providing free blood to the needy patients through various blood banks.

Sai Rose Agarbatti

The Managing Committee of Shri Saibaba Sansthan has decided to manufacture agarbttis from almost one ton of roses and rose garlands presented at the Sai Samadhi by devotees daily.

The Agarbttis will be marketed under the brand name – Sai Rose Agarbttis.

According to Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan chairman, Dr. Suresh Haware, the agarabtti production will be entrusted to a local women self-help group (SHG), Mahila Bachat Gat.

He said a large number of devotees visit Shirdi for darshan of Shri Saibaba. And as a mark of their devotion and faith, they present a large quantity of roses and rose garlands to Shri Saibaba.

“Every day around one ton of roses and rose garlands are offered. Some of these flowers and garlands are used for felicitation purposes. The Management Committee has decided to manufacture Sai Rose Agarbattis from the remaining roses and rose garlands”, Dr Haware said.

“With this Agarbatti, the fragrance of blessings of Shri Saibaba will be travel to reach the homes of Sai devotees”.

These Agarbattis will be available for sale at the temple complex, according to Mohan Yadav, the Sai Sansthan’s Public Relation Officer.

TV Serial On Sai Baba

Yet another decision relates to observance of Shri Saibaba Samadhi Centenary Celebrations from Oct 1, 2017 to Oct 18, 2018.

As a part of the centenary celebrations, the Managing Committee of the Sansthan has resolved to produce a TV serial based on the life and message of Shri Saibaba.

“In order that the information on Centenary Celebrations is spread and propagated around the World and also in order that the devotees are able to understand the life story of Shri Saibaba, the Management Committee has taken a decision to prepare TV Serials in various languages based on Sai Saccharit”, Dr. Haware said in a statement and asked invited interested producers “who have made TV serials earlier”, to contact the CCTV Department of the Shirdi Sansthan.
