99th Samadhi Anniversary at Shirdi from 29th Sept

Shirdi town is getting decked up for the 99th Samadhi anniversary of Sai Baba. The functions will begin on29th September and conclude on 2nd October. For the benefit of lakhs of devotees, the Sai Samadhi temple will be kept open on the night of 29th September and the following day which is also marks the festival of Dasara.

In the past, the Samadhi temple used to be kept open only on the main day of the celebrations. This year the authorities have decided to open the temple for two days. “Considering the possibility of huge crowds of devotees, the Samadhi temple will be kept open for two days that is the first day as well as the main day”, Rubal Agrawal, Chief Executive Officer of the Sansthan, which manages the Shirdi Trust, said in a statement. She appealed to devotees to participate in large numbers in the celebrations and receive divine blessings.

The celebrations will begin with Kakad Arati at 4.30AM on the 29th; half an hour later, at 5 AM a procession will be taken out with Shri Sai Photo and Pothi. Continuous recitation of Shri Sai Sachharita will take place at Dwarakamai from 5.15 a.m. Auspicious bath will be given to Shri Sai at 5.20 a.m. And temple doors will be opened for darshan.

Noon Arati will be performed at 12.30 p.m. and Dhoop Arati at 6.15 p.m. Keertan program will be performed between 4 and 6 p.m. at the stage near Samadhi temple. Noted artists will perform between 7.30 and 10.30 p.m.

Palanquin procession will be taken out in the city at 9.15 p.m.

Second day, the 30th September is the main day of the celebrations. At 5 am continuous recitation will end and procession of Shri Sai Photo and Pothi will be taken out. Auspicious bath at 5.15 am will be followed by Darshan.

Bhiksha Jholi Program will be held at 9 am. Keertan program at 10 am will be followed by Aradhana rituals at 10.30 am. Noon arati and teerth-prasad will be at 12.30 pm. Seemollanghan program will be held at Khandoba Temple in the evening at 5 pm; it will be followed by a procession. Dhoop Arati will be given at 6.15 pm. Invited artists will perform at Sainagar stage between 7.30 and 10.30 pm. The Shri Sai Chariot will be carried in a procession through the city at 9.15 pm.

As stated at the outset, 30th being the main day of celebrations the Samadhi Temple will be open for the whole night for Darshan. Artists will perform in front of Shri Sai between 11 pm. and 5 am.

Sunday, the 1st October will see auspicious bath of Shri Sai at 5.05 followed by Darshan, There will be a tableau on the occasion of starting of Samadhi Centenary Celebrations at 6.30 am. There will be flag hoisting at 10 am. Noon arati at 12.30 noon; keertan program at 4 pm. and Dhoop Arati at 6.15 pm. Invited artists will perform at Sainagar stage between 7.30 and 10 pm. Shej Arati will be held at 10.30 p.m.

On the fourth and last day of the celebrations on 2nd October, Kakad arati will be held at 4.30 am and auspicious bath at 5.05 am followed by Darshan. Rudrabhishek will be held at Gurusthan Temple at 6.45 am. Gopalkala and Dahihandi program will be held at 10 am. with noon arati and Teerth-prasad at 12.30 Noon. Dhoop Arati will be held at 6.15 p.m. Invited artists will perform between 7.30 and 10 pm. Shej Arati will be held at 10.30 pm.

During all days of the celebrations, Sai Satyavrat Pooja (Satyanarayan Pooja) and Abhishek Pooja will performed as usual, according to CEO Rubal Agrawal. However, the usual Shej Arati on the 29th September, early morning Kakad Arati and Shej Arati at 10.30 pm. on the 30th September as well as early morning Kakad Arati on the 1st October will not be held.

In order to carry out the celebrations successfully, all the administrative officers, heads of the departments and staff are making united efforts under the guidance of Sansthan Chairman Dr. Suresh Haware, Vice Chairman Chandrashekhar Kadam and all Trustees, a press release said.
