Two villagers on the verge of vacating their homes, as Police vows to arrest all males

Point Pedro, 19 September,(Asiantribune.com):

The Police has threatened to arrest all males in the Thunnalai East and Kudawattai villages in Point Pedro.

After shooting and killing a 25 year old Yogarajah Dinesh of Thunnalai East, on 8th of July, Nelliayadi and Point Pedro Police had arrested 38 men from Thunnalai East, and Kudawattai villages and charged them under various sections and put them in remanded.

Even after arresting 38 men from these two villages, police continues to arrest whenever they see some males in these two villages.

Last week, three men from Thunnalai East were arrested, by the Point Pedro police, when they came early morning from Colombo to Kodikamam by train and were en route on a bus going to their houses, and were charge sheeted and remanded.

Again yesterday, three men from Thunnalai East were arrested, charge sheeted and remanded.

As police continues to arrest whoever they come across, youths and men in these two villages are on the hiding.
As the men are on the hiding, and the police continues with its prowl to arrest any male they come across.

As the police action intensifies, women in the villages have decided abandon their homes and villages and go to safer places where they can live safely with their male family members.
