Fifth CIMA-Janashakthi Pinnacle Awards

Colombo, 14 January, ( Hallmark of leadership is a combination of ambition, determination and achievements, in addition to talent, skill and experience, said Aruna Fernando, President, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Sri Lanka Division, speaking at the Press Briefing to give details about the CIMA – Janashakthi Pinnacle Awards 2007, last week at Trans Asia Hotel.

The CIMA- Janashakthi Pinnacle Awards which was started five years ago, is one of the leading annual business events to celebrate business excellence, leadership, management and teamwork at highest standards and to recognize and reward excellence in professionalism among the cream of Sri Lanka’s business community.

Prakash Schaffter, Managing Director, Janashakthi Insurance Co Ltd – principal sponsors – said that professionalism and excellence are two of the core values rooted in the spirit and culture at Janashakthi Insurance, which has a long history of breaking records in the insurance sector. Supporting Pinnacle Awards consecutively for five years underscores their commitment to assisting local business, Schaffter said.

Viren Wijesinghe, Chairman, Pinnacle Awards Committee said that they had modest beginning in 2003 and now reached to a much awaited event among Sri Lankan professionals and corporates. He said that the awards are loyal to the objective of recognizing aspiring CIMA members as future business leaders.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at Cinnamon Grand Hotel on 2 April. This year’s Programme features Business Leader of the Year, Chief Financial Officer of the Year, Business Manager of the Year, Young CIMA Star of the Year and the Management Team of the Year.
