Weather forecast and warning for the next 24 hours by Disaster Management Centre

Colombo, 30 October, (Asiantribune.com):

Due to the low atmospheric disturbances in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, cloudy showery weather expected in most of Sri Lanka reveals Disaster Management Centre.

The weather forecast warning issued by the Disaster Management Centre based on the report from the Colombo Meteological Department further adds –

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most provinces of the Island.

It further adds showers may occur in the coastal areas in the Island in the morning.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Puttalam via Kankesanthurai.

The warning adds, Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere.

Heavy showers can be expected in the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Galle via Kankesanthurai and Puttalam.

Regarding the blow of winds, it is reported it will be Northerly to North-West in directions in sea areas extending from Kankesanthurai to Matara via Colombo and win speed will be 15 – 20 kmph in other sea areas.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers and hence seas can be temporarily rough.
