Asian Tribune report featured in US Hindu American Foundation

The official website of the U.S. Hindu American Foundation, which yields influence in may spheres of American life having established continuing discourse with the Congress and White House, featured the ‘Asian Tribune’ report announcing the declaration of Hindu ‘Thai Pongal Day,’ a state-wide official festival in the State of Virginia.

Description

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) is an advocacy organization for the Hindu American community.

The Foundation educates the public about Hinduism, speaks out about issues affecting Hindus worldwide, and builds bridges with institutions and individuals whose work aligns with HAF’s objectives. HAF focuses on human and civil rights, public policy, media, academia, and interfaith relations. Through its advocacy efforts, HAF seeks to cultivate leaders and empower future generations of Hindu Americans.

The Foundation’s objectives are -

(1) Promote pluralism and mutual respect amongst peoples.

(2) Ensure an accurate understanding of Hinduism as a living tradition.

(3) Highlight and secure the human rights of Hindus around the globe.

(4) Represent the Hindu American community’s needs and interests to institutions influencing and making policy.

(5) Solve contemporary problems by applying Hindu philosophy.

(6) Build a sustainable institution that will remain a pre-eminent advocate for Dharma communities for future generations.

“The Asian Tribune’ in its report stated “The rapidly growing Asian Indian population in the State of Virginia, the high educational skills attained by this group, its influence in education, economic prosperity of Virginia in particular and the U.S. in general, the American Indian impact in halls of political power in Washington, New York, and in Commonwealth states in America led to the State of Virginia to adopt the Hindu ‘Thai Pongal Day’ in January a state recognized religious festival”.
