Royal College - Opening up of Refurbished Cadet Band Room

Colombo, 15 June, (Asiatribune.com):

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne graced the occasion of the opening of the refurbished Cadet Band room at the Royal College as the Chief Guest on Thursday (14th June, 2018).

The event was organized by the Executive Committee of the Old Royalist's Cadet Band Association led by Mr. Chandimal Fernando. The Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana was the Guest of Honor at the occasion.

The event unfolded subsequent to a Guard of Honor presented to the Chief of Defence Staff by the Royal College Cadet Platoon. Past Royalists who were members of the college Cadet band received tokens of appreciation from the Chief Guest.

Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Principal of Royal College Mr. B. A Abeyrathna, senior tri-service officers and family members of fallen War Heroes from Royal laid floral wreaths commemorating and in tribute to past Royalists who had paid their ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the motherland at the college War Memorial.

Subsequent to the wreath laying ceremony the refurbished Cadet band room was declared open by the Chief of Defence Staff.

Past members of the Royal cadet platoons and the college cadet band including tri-services personnel were also present at the occasion.
