Mahinda’s Camp Prepares Delaying Tactics On No Confidence Motion Today

Colombo, 16 November, (Asiantribune.com):

It is speculated that the No-Confidence Motion against Mahinda Rajapaksa may not be concluded today. There is a strong likelihood of the No Confidence Motion being debated over many days, before it goes to vote.

The Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Camp is expected to call for a debate on the No Confidence Motion before any votes being take place, it is learnt.

They are reportedly preparing to propose this subject of debate during today’s Party Leaders Meeting that will take place before the Parliament convene at 1.30 PM today.

Mahinda’s Camp has switched to this strategy after President Maithripala Srisena has informed UNP, UNF, TNA, TPA and JVP leaders yesterday that the No Confidence Motion Approved and given to him yesterday was not proper and proper procedures were not followed.

President has also said to approve the No Confidence Motion in a legal manner and forward to him.

As President Srisena has called to follow proper procedures and thus taking advantage of the statement of the President, Mahinda Rajapaksa’s camp is preparing to go a step further and ask for a debate saying it is also a proper procedure.

A debate if takes place may conclude today itself or it may continue for many days as well.
