A landmark event to remember!

The three – day festival of motorsport, culture and entertainment was Saudi Arabia’s chance to prove that it can put on a show to rival anything in the world, and which only two years ago would have been unthinkable.

The event was also first to be linked to ‘Sharek’ electronic visa system allowing foreigners other than pilgrims or business visitors to come to Saudi Arabia.

The historic Diriyah, in the suburb of the Saudi capital Riyadh was jam packed with Saudi citizens as well as the residents and many foreigners who made use of the new visa system, ‘Sharek’.

The transport, catering and other related arrangements were of high standard and appreciated by motorsport and music lovers who attended.

Festivities started on Thursday the 13th with the famous Enrique Igalsias & Jason Desuld entertaining the crowd.

The following day Black Eyed Peas & Amr Diyab took the stage to entertain an electrified crowd. Friday, the day concluding festivities were seen featuring the US groups One Republic & David Guelle on stage while the star event, the motorsport with Formula E–Championship highly excited racing fans going delirious.

The winner’s trophy went to the internationally famed racing driver, Antonio Felix da Costa.

The organizers of this three-day festival were highly encouraged by the response they got from the unprecedented crowd.

‘Hopefully, we will learn from this and see what we need to do for the future, but I can tell you from now that there is a lot of demand’ said Prince Abdul Aziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, vice chairman of the General Sports Authority.

Two Sri Lankan youths, Raed and Adel, who attended the festivities on all three days had a very high word of praise for the world-class standard they saw in the organization of the events.

These two young music lovers thanked the organizers for giving them this rare opportunity to see their favorite stars performing live.
