Third COVID – 19 Death in Sri Lanka

Colombo, 02 April, (Asiantribnune.com):

A 72-year-old COVID-19 infected patient died at the IDH, Angoda, on Wednesday evening(1), bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to three in Sri Lanka, official sources said.

They said the victim was a resident of the Maradana area. The deceased, who was a travel agent by profession was admitted to the IDH earlier on Wednesday, sources added.

The deceased had been suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease.

Dr. Jasinghe added that the patient was in a critical condition at the time of hospitalization.

This brings the number of fatalities in Sri Lanka from the COVID-19 outbreak to 3.

The first death related to COVID-19 was reported on the 28th of March from IDH, Angoda.

The second death was reported from Negombo on the 30th of March.
