Do Not Sell Death

The Director General Health Services of the Ministry of Health Dr Anil Jasinghe has made a statement urging shop owners to refrain from selling cigarette which is equal to selling “Death”.

Dr Jasinghe has reminded the shop owners to think of and consider their social responsibility at this crucial situation as smokers are at a much greater risk during the epidemic as their ratio of getting infected by the virus is far greater than that of non-smokers. They are more vulnerable to contracting the disease and succumb death.

He has also urged the smokers to quit smoking with immediate effect, to save their own lives.
