Fourth Death Reported Due to COVID - 19

A 58-year-old male man receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda has died, increasing the total deaths due to COVID 19 to four in Sri Lanka, the Director General Health Services said.

The Government Information Department said he died due to pneumonia-related complications.

The first death related to COVID-19 was reported on the 28th of March from IDH, Angoda. The second death was reported from Negombo on the 30th of March. The third death was reported from IDH 1st April (yesterday).

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases have risen to 151. The total number of recovered patients stands at 21 while more than 200 persons are currently under observation across hospitals in the country.
