COIVID -19 – Total Tally Shot Up To 1,319

Colombo, 27 May, (Asiantribune.com):

The Health Ministry said that 137 patients were detected with the virus on Tuesday (26) alone, the highest for a day so far, and the total tally shot up to 1,319.

Out of these cases, 127 were returnees from Kuwait who are at quarantine facilities at the Trincomalee and Minneriya quarantine centers, while 10 of them were navy personnel, who are also under quarantine.

In the meantime, the count of recoveries reported in the country has reached 712.

On that account, the number of active coronavirus cases who are under medical care stands at 597, according to the Epidemiology Unit’s tally.

Sri Lanka reported its 10th death on Monday (25) as a 51-year-old woman who had arrived in the country from Kuwait succumbed to the disease.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that this coronavirus victim was suffering from heart conditions prior to her passing.
