ANC launches UK undergraduate university transfer programmes in Sri Lanka

Colombo, 03 March, ( Ceylinco Educational Group has ventured into educational industry seven years ago and as a leading player have been involved in transferring to American and Australian Universities and now in a historic move launched a British University Programme in Sri Lanka, said Jagath Alwis, Deputy Chairman, Ceylinco Education Group at a Press Conference held at Galle Face Hotel at the signing of the agreement between ANC and NC UK and the Launch of UK Universities Undergraduate Transfer Programme at ANC.

ANC, the leading higher education provider in Sri Lanka for US and Australian based undergraduate university programmes, launched the UK university undergraduate transfer programmes in Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Northern Consortium United Kingdom, (NCUK).

The agreement enables the transfer opportunities to over 210 destination degrees in the UK; progression guaranteed to NCUK owner universities and a fast track and cost effective route to a prestigious UK degree.

He said that what they have done was ensured that the best university education options in the world are available in Sri Lanka. He said the primary objective at ANC has been to give young people a chance at embarking on cost effective world class university education and the wide and diverse curriculum that could be offered in Sri Lanka.

He said that this is being done in partnership with Northern Consortium UK which has eleven owner universities within its purview and said that the UK undergraduate transfer programmes will benefit both parents and the youth in Sri Lanka by offering a guaranteed, fast-tract, cost-effective UK university education at a considerably reduced rate. He said that their UK partner universities include eleven leading UK universities.

He said that they have a reputation for transfer rogrammes with ANC UK and have already transferred almost 1,000 students in various universities

Jean Krasocki, Chief Executive Officer, NCUK said that in their 20 year history more than 13,500 students have progressed form their programmers to degrees in the UK and many of these students have obtained outstanding results and made a great contribution to their local societies and economies.

ANC Executive Director and CEO, Dr Punrjeeva Karunanayake said that the students same time and money and get employment early. He said that while minimum entry criteria are applicable, the selection of the university will be subject to individual performance.

The NCUK programmes will be offered at ANC under the brand name ANC-UK. It includes an International Foundation Year (IFY) programme which can be completed in one year and is equivalent to Advanced Level and an International Diploma (iDip) programme offered in business, engineering, commuter science and IT, which is equivalent to the first year of bachelor degree programmes. Entry to the IFY is from Ordinary Levels and to the IDip from Advanced levels.

The NCUK owner universities include the University of Sheffield, University of Manchester, University of Leeds, University of Liverpool, University of Bradford, University of Salford, Sheffield Hallam University, Liverpool John Moores University, University of Huddersfield, Leeds Metropolitan University and Manchester Metropolitan University.
