[b]Norwegian Parliamentarians intervention sought in the release of abducted PLOTE Cadre [/b]

[b] Oslo, 22 December, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Norwegian Parliamentarian’s intervention was sought in the release of the abducted senior PLOTE cadre Sinnathamby Ganeshalingham alias Farook by the Liberal Democratic Tamils of Norway. Several Norwegian Parliamentarians have assured them that they will take up the matter with the Stoltenberg Government immediately.

The Liberal Democratic Tamils in Norway has appealed to all the 169 members of the Storting – Norwegian Parliament to intervene and arrange the release of abducted PLOTE member and all others abducted by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, the separatist Tamil rebel outfit of Sri Lanka.

The Liberal Democratic Tamils in Norway in their written appeal has urged the members of the Norwegian Parliament to request the Norwegian Government to take up the matter with the LTTE for the immediate release of their senior cadre Sinnathamby Ganeshalingham alias Farook who was abducted on 12 December in Vavuniya.

They have pointed out that it was the Norwegian Government in 2002 helped the signing of the Ceasefire Agreement. Despite the signing of the Ceasefire Agreement they have underlined that the LTTE continues with its violence activities and unleash terror and intimidations.
