NUA scoffs at SLMC claims over Muslim delegation agreement

By Munza Mushtaq – Reporting for Asian Tribune

Colombo, 28 February, Asiantribune.com): The National Unity Alliance (NUA) today scoffed at claims made by the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) to the effect that the SLMC and the NUA had entered into an agreement wherein both parties will not represent the Government delegation in the event a separate Muslim delegation is not accommodated at peace talks, was shot down by the NUA Spokesman Abul Kalaam.

He was reacting to a story published in the “Asian Tribune” on February 20th tilted ”SLMC protests against Ferial's peace mission: NUA member tells to stop acting 'silly'”

An SLMC spokesman expressed their 'displeasure' over NUA leader Ferial Ashraff's decision to be part of the Government delegation at last week's peace talks in Geneva. He also claimed that Mrs. Ashraff's decision was against a 'certain agreement' the NUA and the SLMC had reached.
