Colombo, 12 April, (Asiantribune.com): The orgy of killing by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) continues yesterday for the second consecutive day, as ten sailors and a civilian bus driver of the Sri Lanka Navy were feared dead and nine others were seriously injured. Sri Lanka Government in a strongly worded statement condemned the unprovoked killings by the LTTE, 'an act of blatant violation of the Ceasefire.'

According to a news report, LTTE detonated a powerful claymore mine at a convoy of the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) personal at Thambalakamam, about 15 kilometer South of Trincomalee at about 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday (11) afternoon while the sailors were proceeding on leave to be with their families to celebrate the Hindu - Buddhist new year day.

"The navy convoy was carrying sailors going on leave three days ahead of the island's Sinhala and Tamil New Year," said Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe, military spokesman.
