[b]Islamabad, 02 April, (Asiantribune.com): [/b]Pakistan and Sri Lanka have agreed to combat extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations in the interest of peace and progress of their people.

A joint statement issued in Islamabad on Saturday that said during the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa meetings with President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shauakt Aziz, they agreed that combating terrorism is the great challenge of the time as both countries have been victims of this menace.

The two sides agreed to further strengthen their multifaceted and multi sectoral cooperation in the fields of education, culture, commerce and trade, Science and technology, defence and tourism for the common benefits of the two countries.

The also decided to have an agreement on Customs cooperation by the end of this year to facilitate trade.
