By Iqbal Hussain Khan Yousafzai – Reporting from Islamabad

Islamabad, 24 February, (Asiantribune.com): Opposition parties in Pakistan have refused to be part of a parliamentary delegation to visit Brussels for holding talks with the European Parliament on the issue of publication of blasphemous caricatures in some European countries.

The opposition rejected a request from the Prime Minister Shaukat Azizm who Thursday invited it to visit Brussels in a bi-partisan parliamentary delegation for interaction with members of the European Parliament.

The ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (PML), in an open letter urged the opposition leaders to avoid taking political advantage of the issue and join hands with the government to deal with the issue of publication of blasphemous material in western media. The letter has been written to the opposition by PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed.
