[b]Doha, 15 February, (Asiantribune.com): [/b]Qatar police has arrested three members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in connection with the assassination of Manohran alias Kuruvi (Bird) (26) . According to the latest information, the police are hunting for a LTTE intelligence operative who is avoiding arrest.

Manoharan, from Sittandy, Batticaloa, a war-wounded handicap and a member of the TamilEelam Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal led by V.Muralitharan alias Colonel Karuna, succumbed to his head injury on Monday 13 February at the General Hospital in Doha, Qatar.

He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Ahamed Hospital, (General Hospital) in Doha Qatar on 06th morning after he was hit on the head with a steel crowbar when he was fast asleep allegedly by the members of the intelligence group of the LTTE. Manoharan was one of the numerous members of Col. Karuna's group working in Qatar.

S. B. Attugoda, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in Doha told the Asian Tribune that that the Qatar authorities have taken the assassination very seriously and are concerned that LTTE has decided to wage its terrorists wars in Qatar which is hailed as one of the ‘Crime Free States’ in the Gulf.
