Islamabad, 20 February (Asiantribune.com): Pakistani authorities have detained MMA President Qazi Hussain Ahmed in the eastern city of Lahore as Police sealed off the Pakistani capital Islamabad to prevent a protest planned against publication of derogatory cartoons in some European countries.

The Government of Punjab stopped president of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad from proceeding to Islamabad for leading a rally there and detained him for 30 days at his party’s headquarters in Mansoora.

Qazi said the government has made a mistake to stop him to lead the rally adding that hundreds of thousands people are gathering in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on the MMA call to protest against the blasphemous publications.
