[b]Restore normalcy to enable the Jaffna University to students to attend lecture classes.[/b]

[b] Colombo, 22 January, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Sri Lanka Government has to come forward to ease tension and restore normalcy in the Jaffna Peninsula, emphasized Professor S. Mohandas, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna.

He has stated that since from last Monday -16 January, students have not attended to the lecture classes. They have completely boycotted the entire lecture classes. Therefore no lecture classes were conducted since then.

Professor S. Mohandas, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna has further said as follows:

A university is normally involved in many functions. Out of them the most important two functions are, to learn and to educate. Regarding this the students have written a letter to us. They have stated in the letter that they will not attend to the lecture classes until normalcy is restored in the region.
