Sirisena Cooray is back in the UNP Central Committee

[b]Colombo, 22 September:[/b] Sirisena Cooray, a former General Secretary of the UNP, A Minister and former Mayor of Colombo was appointed a member of the UNP Central Committee at Sirikotha, Pitakotte yesterday .

Tissa Attanayake, Deputy General Secretary, UNP and MP for Kandy District said that Sirisena Cooray was accepted to the UNP Central Committee as a member on an invitation made by UNP Presidential Candidate and Leader of Opposition, Ranil Wickramasinghe and Mr Cooray would ensure the victory of Mr Wickramasinghe at the coming Presidential Elections.

Once Mr Wickramasinghe wins the elections and becomes the President, it would be his wish to bring all the local authorities in the Western Province under a single corporation and to implement the new concept, the most suitable person would be Mr Cooray, and this was unanimously decided by the UNP Central Committee, Mr Attanayake revealed.
