By Munza Mushtaq – Reporting for Asian Tribune

Colombo, 07 February, (Asiantribune.com): Sri Lanka's pre dominant Muslim party, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) has decided to contest the fourth coming local government elections on their own, the party's Secretary General M.T. Hasan Ali told the "Asian Tribune."

"We will filed candidates in 162 local bodies, including in the North and East except in the Kilinochchi district," he said.

The party aspires to centre its election campaign on the 'broken promises of President Mahinda Rajapakse' after he failed to agree to accommodate a separate Muslim delegation at the peace talks.
