Solve the Tiger problem and Tamil problem separately --- Douglas Devananda

Colombo, 29 April, (Asiantribune.com): Presenting an assessment of the current critical situation caused by LTTE violence to President Mahinda Rajapakse the EPDP Secretary General Douglas Devananda states that if the Tigers continue to avoid the opportunities given to them then, as head of state, the President should negotiate "only with those forces who believe in peace and arrange to provide constitutional rights to the Tamil speaking people fulfilling their reasonable aspirations."

Devananda emphasized that "the political rights are meant only to liberate the Tamil speaking people and not to strengthen the power of the Tigers."
