"Sri Lanka Air Force and Navy had definitely targeted..

"Sri Lanka Air Force and Navy had definitely targeted military positions and offices of the LTTE" - Major General Ulf Henricsson

Colombo, 29 April, (Asiantribune.com): In his observations on Trincomalee & Sampoor Major General Ulf Henricsson, Head of Mission of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) pointed out, "Sri Lanka Air Force and Navy had definitely targeted military positions and offices of the LTTE". He further observed that some collateral damage to property had taken place as some of the LTTE offices were situated in populated areas. Such collateral damage was not significant. In his estimation approximately 10 – 12 people may have died. He did not believe that 16 people had died as has been claimed in some reports.

When asked about the reports relating to a mass exodus of people from the Sampoor area, Major General Ulf Henricsson stated that these were grossly exaggerated. It is normal for people to move away from military targets at times of conflict. Since the bombing ceased, people were slowly returning to their homes and villages.

Genral Sarath Fonseka is a battle hardened soldier who has been injured twice before this cowardly suicide bombing by the LTTE . He will come back with his rejuvenated valor to help our beautiful island to be free from the grip that we as a nation a nation held hostage for over two decades by this psychopathic murderer who does not poses the basic education to understand the value of the human lives. I sincerely hope that Tamil diaspora sees through 83 anarchy to understand the paramount importance of the democracy.

Thank You.

Don’t know what Mr. Elian and Mr. Thamlselvan have now to say regarding this? They were trying to tell the world that there was genocide, but now Major General Ulf Henricsson, Head of Mission of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) has come out with this statement. I think they will now talk to Norway to amend this statement.
Mr. Elian was seen in photographs published by the Tamil net, observing a corpse said to be of a father and child. When you think of what this might be, it can be of a child soldier and a senior LTTE carder. This will be also good evidence that the LTTE is harboring child soldiers in their camps. The UN and the UNICEF should look into this. Even the LTTE might go into the extent to get two bodies from some where to be shown to the world that there is indiscriminating bombings. I think LTTE had not consulted the SLMM before issuing their statements regarding this targeted attacking of the terrorist camps.

Finally the SLMM has got their act right. I think they will continue to do so in the future.

Sampoor's population had been about 16000 and because of the aerial bombing only a fraction of that had been victims.

But, According to ELILAN, 40,000 had left Samppor and they all were victims.

As soon as LTT/ELILAN gave that information to BBC, TRO had sent a request for funds for "Sampoor Victims".

That is what Sunday Observer says.

If anyone else had said that apart from Major General Ulf Henricsson, I wouldn’t have believed it.

So according to Major General Ulf Henricsson the bombings and three way attacks were justifiable.

As result Gen.Lt. S.Fonseka (we hope he will be alive) at least few month will not be able to be a Commander or most likely will be no more Commander of Sri Lanka Army.
I am sure SLA Commader will come pretty soon. Apprently he did not have any paralysing kind of injuries. Just internal bleeding becuase of deep cuts.

When he comes back from the hospital that will be the time that VP also wants the EELAM War 4, and it will be a decisive fight once and for all.

GOSL should never reach a decision with LTT and Norway also should be sidelined but not removed.

"Sri Lanka Air Force and Navy had definitely targeted..

If you compare:

LTTE(we assume LTTE) targeted SriLanka Army Commander and SriLanka Air Force and Navy as reaction targeted military positions and offices of the LTTE.

As result Gen.Lt. S.Fonseka (we hope he will be alive) at least few month will not be able to be a Commander or most likely will be no more
Commander of Sri Lanka Army.
On the other side about 20 dead Tamils and few thousands refuges it is exactly what LTTE wanted.

Question: Who is one step further?

"Sri Lanka Air Force and Navy had definitely targeted..

They targetted the LTTE positions, that's correct.

But how success were they? According to reports they were so far off, that even some bombs fell on neighbouring muslim village.

Also, the interview or the reporting sounds like it's okay if only 10 - 12 people are killed.

Anyway, it doesn.t matter what we read on internet. Ground situation is people are so angry at government and Ltte.
GOSL made this air strikes with careful, because they know that the worldcommunity is in Srilanka. Targts were LTT miltary trainingscamps and sea tigers equipments.

Now LTT try much to prov the world that GOSL killed the civilians, but it not work.

According to the GA in Trinco 16 000 people liv these place and according to LTT about 40 000 displacments. Anyone understand the mathematics of LTT..................it provs how educated are the LTT leaders

Norway should concentrate with schooling the LTT leaders at first
But according to DBS Jeyaraj it was SL was pressured to stop the bombing. His Tamilweek reported.
"..Realising that Sri Lanka had received extremely negative publicity abroad as a result of these retaliatory attacks a crestfallen Rajapakse remarked ” The image of our country is being destroyed. They show the world that the one act that we took to ensure our security, when faced with a major attack, was much bigger than the thousands of times the LTTE had grossly and provocatively violated the ceasefire agreement”.

Trimming the herd is never a bad thing, so it was a shame the GOSL didn’t continue just a little longer.

"Sri Lanka Air Force and Navy had definitely targeted..

The most important thing is that GOSL established some self esteem with this.

GOSL should establish the standards and not the LTT.

SLA should hire trained - LTTE caders to the Deep penetration units for a allowance and a promising reward upon the completion of the job and also with a good disability/death insurance reward.

SLA need to get LTT high rankers in order to finish this war.

KAruna and other groups can be helpful the same way.

"Sri Lanka Air Force and Navy had definitely targeted..

The GOSL should not have let up bombing.

That is a mistake.

Once you start something you need to have guts to see things through to bitter bloody end.

For the simple reason, that the LTTE will raise the "recent strikes" as potential reason for a seperate homeland.

If for some reason the LTTE are prevented from attending the next peace talks....because of...say...complete military anniahalation...then this reason wont be presented.
