[b]Sri Lanka: New cabinet will be sworn in tomorrow[/b]

[b]Colombo, 22 November, (Asiantribune.com): [/b]The cabinet ministers of the new government are to be sworn in tomorrow. It is expected that there will be a maximum of 20 ministers with the cabinet status. Also the government has decided to appoint non-cabinet status ministers such as ministers of state, project ministers as well as deputy ministers.

According to reliable government source, it was learnt that Janatha Vimukthi Perumuna has already informed the President Mahinda Rajapakse that they are not interested in accepting any cabinet portfolios.

JVP has informed the President that they will give their support to the government but would not take any positions in the government.

Similarly, JHU too has informed that they are not willing to accept any portfolios in the Government.

President Rajapakse is expected to allocate himself with the defense Portfolio and Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake would be made the deputy defense minister and also allocated with ministry for national security.
