[b]Sri Lankans urged to work to create environment for peace – British Minister[/b]
[b]Colombo, 21 January, (Asiantribune.com);[/b] To create a conducive environment where parties involved in the peace process can meet face to face to have meaning full talks, it is important that all the people in Sri Lanka has to work to create this environment, urged, Ian Pearson who on a two-day visit to Sri Lanka.
Ian Pearson MP, UK Minister for Trade, said "From my experience in Northern Ireland, I know that to achieve this, it is important for there to be real progress on the peace process. I encourage all people in Sri Lanka to work to create an environment where the parties can meet face to face and have meaningful talks."
At the end of a two-day visit to Sri Lanka, said: “I fervently hope that Sri Lanka will realise to the maximum the opportunities of today, and of the future.
During his visit, the Minister had meetings with: the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, Mangala Samaweera; Parliamentarians from the Tamil National Alliance; and the Reconstruction and Development Agency.
