St. Peters Roman Catholic Church Navaly Jaffna 10th Ann.

The 10th Anniversary of the Bombing of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church Navaly Jaffna Sri Lanka on [b]July 09th 1995[/b] by the Sri Lankan Air Force was remembered by the Tamils living world over.

[b]247 [/b]people died including [b]97[/b] children when the Sri Lankan Air Force bombarded this church filled by displaced families because of Sri Lankan Army shellings of their villages.

The Bishop of Jaffna in his address to the people who attended the Mass to remember those who died in the church condemned the act as barberic and further said that the UN resolution says that Hospitals and place of worships must not be targetted during the course of a war.
