Taliban killed the kidnapped Indian, body found

By M Rama Rao – Reporting from New Delhi

New Delhi, 24, November, (Asiantribune.com):It is now clearly and unambiguously confirmed that the Taliban militants have killed the Indian they have kidnapped five days back.

The body of Raman Kutty, the driver with Indian Border Roads Organisation (BRO) engaged in laying the road in Nimroze province of Afghanistan was found dumped on the roadside in Delaram district, according to information available here.

The brutal killing - his throat was slashed - was indulged in, Taliban spokesman told wire services in Kabul, because Indian company failed to heed its call to wind up its business in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh termed the killing of the 35-year old driver from Kerala as outrageous and barbaric. Kutty is a soldier of peace engaged in development work far away from home. The killing of such a person reflected the cruel and inhuman character of the Taliban and the forces they represent.
