Tamil online news websites and April Fools Day.

Colombo, 03 April, (Asiantribune.com): Two popular online Tamil news websites became the latest victims of the April Fool’s day hoaxes by Sri Lanka’s Daily Mirror of 01 April 2006.
Without knowing that they were hoax news stories meant for the April Fools day by the Daily Mirror, Tamil news websites thought them as real news and published the Tamil translations of those news stories, without even sourcing the news stories as usual - “as being talked about in high Colombo circle, believing TNA will join the Govt and JVP will be ousted.
It was a joke
"While the country’s focus was on the local polls results during the weekend, two Daily Mirror page one stories on Saturday, April 1 also grabbed the attention of our readers."

Tamil online news websites and April Fools Day.
A while ago one AT member tried to convince me about Tamilnet.
This is what he wrote,
"BTW for your info, believe me Tamilnet is the most trusted news source among foreign and local people, that include deplomats, news agencies and individuals. It may have its flaws but you can't even compare AT with taminet. So please don't compare Tamilnet with AT, Illaku, Vilippu or Neruppu etc. "
This is what I wrote back,
"I certainly would like to see it that way but unfortunately, have concluded differently.
They not the trusted but the first to bring the news."
Boy! aren't we being April fools around the year, NOT just on the April 1st.
(I think it is just a "copy" and "paste" journalism.)
