Tamilselvan attacks appointment of Vice-chancellor

Tamilselvan attacks appointment of Vice-chancellor

Colombo, 17 March, ( After meeting Norway's Ambassador Mr Hans Brattskar in Kilinochchi yesterday, S. P. Tamilselvan, head of the LTTE’s Political Wing, continued his attack on the appointment of Prof. Ratnajeevan Hoole, as Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna.

Tamilselvan told the pro-LTTE Tamil media surrounding him: "Sri Lanka's President's appointments are clearly hostile political actions intended to irritate and provoke the Tamil people. During a critical period in the peace process instead of finding ways to build trust, he has shown a complete lack of statesmanship."

But the silent majority in Jaffna has not expressed any public opposition to the appointment of Prof. Hoole as the next Vice-chancellor. Most Tamils welcome his appointment. Tamils in the Diaspora too are most disturbed by the LTTE propaganda launched against Prof. Hoole.
