[b]Islamabad, 18 January, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] The United Nations has temporarily closed its offices in southwestern Pakistan for security reasons.
The UN country chief Jan Vandemoortele said Tuesday that the offices would remain closed for 48-hour in Balochistan province after receiving a telephone threat from the Al-Qaeda network.
An unknown person in the telephonic call issued the threat on Monday to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office in the provincial capital Quetta, said, the UN official.
